I am very impressed with this guide rod. I was using a 14.5 long stroke and while I really liked it the change in recoil impulse was hard to get used to. This guide rod and spring (14 lb) is just as pleasant to shoot but feels like most other handguns as far as the impulse is concerned. Very soft shooting but I will say installation is not easy.
