Description

Introducing the Rune Tactical Canik Rival guide rod. This was our first guide rod platform we developed for & have refined it slightly as we learned new tricks & methods. This Guide rod is optimized for the Canik Rival-S & Rival. Made out of 303 Stainless Steel & uncaptured guide rod by design. our stainless steel guide rod assembly is Similar in weight to the factory guide assembly. We developed our round wire springs for our canik rival guide rod & other Canik platforms because the load & stroke of the canik are different than other common platforms & while other springs work, they are not optimized for the canik. Developing our spring from the ground up allowed us to develop something that caters to canik in diameter and stroke.

Disappointed with the finish on the guide rod. Tool marks from turning were pronounced along the shaft and there was a pip left on the tail end of the rod. The result was sawing sound when you cycle the slide with this guide rod in place.
I spent a couple of hours polishing the guide rod to a mirror finish before firing a shot. I’ll look elsewhere next time.

we are sorry you feel this way.we don’t advertise a mirror finish because it simply isn’t necessary. we generally do a ceramic tumble & finish with 300 grit sandpaper for a omnidirectional finish. and the tool holding hole being left is cost savings measure that is pasted on in the final cost.

I purchased the stainless guide rod and calibration kit. The guide rod is nicely finished and fit perfectly. The springs were packaged in plastic bags with no label, just the hand written poundage in magic marker on the bag. I was skeptical. I shoot mostly softballs (127 power factor) 147g bullets so i started with the 12 lb spring and worked my way up to the 15 lb with different kinds of ammo to Sig factory 124g(nato spec). With each change of both the spring and ammo per spring the difference in the dot bounce and follow up shot placements was very pronounced. This allowed me to tune for my loads in a hurry. My skepticism was misplace in the labeling, it was spot on.
I have never purchased anything from this company before, but their products are exactly as they are promised and the kit was well worth the money delivered for $50 with guide rod and springs. Outstanding value. If you have never done this with a pistol, don’t hesitate it will change your game for sure. It also will allow me to order the extra guide rod springs with complete confidence. Those packages of super deal!

Something I forgot to mention in my previous review. The best preforming ammo with tight splits(.25 -.35) was not what I have considered my favorite load. With the benefit of good calibration I will be using a faster lighter bullet as it just performs better. I was surprised.
